Finally, the fifth-generation wireless network, or 5G, is here and promises to be faster and more reliable than any network that has come before it. Seeing how well it does is exciting.
Many smartphone makers have released over-the-air (OTA) upgrades, allowing consumers to activate their 5G bands. In this tutorial, we’ll go through the steps necessary to enable 5G on your OnePlus smartphone, the several ways you can do so, and the current lineup of OnePlus devices that can access 5G networks.
Regarding telecommunications networks, 5G is by far the most significant advancement. Indoors or out, the promised one hundred-fold increase in speed makes it far superior to 4G. Although some 5G bands depend on the 4G architecture to function, we will need to have 4G in place for the time being.

Enable 5G on OnePlus Smartphones
A 5G smartphone is required to use the 5G capabilities of the OnePlus smartphone. However, 5G cannot be used until it is activated on the user’s mobile device. Two methods are described here for activating 5G on a OnePlus device.
1. From Settings Menu
The most obvious way to enable 5G is by using the settings menu. Here Is how you can do that.
- Go to settings on your OnePlus 5G smartphone.
- Select Sim and tap on the preferred network type.
- Select 5G from the list. You will see 5G, 4G, 3G, and 2G in the list.
- 5G is ready to use in your OnePlus smartphones now.
2. From Phone Dialer
Although this is the least common approach, you can use it to enable 5G on your mobile device. Please follow these instructions to activate 5G on your mobile device.
- Open your phone dialer and select the number pad. Press *#*#4636#*#* keys.
- A phone information popup will appear.
- Scroll down and select “Set Preferred Network” type.
- Now choose from the list and select “NR ONLY” or the “NR/LTE” option.
You will be able to use 5G on your OnePlus smartphones.
NR LTE will use 5G and 4G frequencies to provide excellent coverage. If 5G isn’t accessible, it will go back to 4G. If you want 5G to be your phone’s first priority, you must ensure you’re always using the higher bands.
Conclusion
The focus here was on 5G-capable mobile devices. Five-generation mobile networks (5G) live in select Indian cities and are accessible via 5G handsets. Check your 5G eligibility and then make these adjustments to apply 5G to your OnePlus smartphone if you are having trouble switching to the 5G Network.
